MAWF as an art community

Deo Palma is a MAWF Board Member and the National Coordinator of the socio-cultural movement AngKasama, Inc. For the past 20 years as a volunteer social worker in many countries, he studied different alternative visions for contemporary communities and societies.

Margaha, Pintor Kulapol, et al

National artist nominee and social realist Nunelucio Alvarado lives in Old Sagay in Bacolod. He settled with his family, artist friends, and students (collectively calling themselves Pintor Kulapol) along Margaha beach. Together, they transformed the place from a garbage dump into a living artwork of installation pieces constructed by community members and visitors.

Christine Rom is the President of PODD Corp, a professional web site design and development and IT outsourcing company based in Cebu, Philippines. She's produced and managed the art community sites of artcebu.com and pinoypoets.com. Both groups have greatly increased membership and public interest a few months since they were launched.
